91~ Feelin better

Yup, we are better, not 100% yet but almost!

I've been quite busy lately and when I get time to sit down with my laptop all I want to do is read my forums, blogs and play at POGO, Sorry for not updating my Blog more frequently. I'm sure there are millions of people out there just dieing to hear about my provincial life ;D

So, I am a Peer Mentor.....Yes I am! It's true! There are people out there that think I make a good role model.... I take it as a compliment but I am also weary. I'm not sure if I want young Moms and pregnant women to "look up to me" Sure my life as a Mom has had it's up and downs in these past 5 years but I'm not sure it qualifies me as a MENTOR! But I'll try on this cap for awhile and see how I do, hopefully not too stressful.

Monday will be a busy for me, I was asked to go to GWD school and cook and serve a Hot lunch with Donna (from the bank) and then at 2pm that day I have my peer Mentor stuff, we will be make ginger soup and sushi rolls for the No body's Perfect course on Tuesday. I don't mind the course, Mike went with us girls last Tuesday but he wasn't very ....... umm ... into it. On the ride home, he was kinda complaining about it and acting like the whole thing was attacking him.... It wasn't, just his perception of it though. Hopefully he'll get over himself and come again this Tuesday.

Not sure what we'll be doing this weekend, Mike mentioned going to Osoyoos on Saturday. I got to find a sitter for Monday morn for Ivy.... maybe the neighbours....

Till next time people!

Post 90 ~ Sick, icky sick!

Yup, I'm sick. And the girls are sick.

We are all tired, feverish, grumpy, coughing, snivelling, whining, and just plain YUCK!

Ivy was well enough to go to school yesterday, she said 6 kids were home sick (now we now where the cold/flu came from) But today she has another fever so she said home. She hasn't moved off the sofa all day. Anna refuses to take any meds so she was hurting pretty bad with the fever, finally it seems to have broke this morning.

Mike has been such a great guy, he's been looking after all of us, last night he brought home pizza and another one for tonight so I don't have to cook except something for Anna. He even has been sleeping on the sofa so that Anna can sleep with me (she so sick that she cries and gets up lots when we make sleep in her own bed) Hopefully Mike won't get this thing, I know for sure that I won't be able to stand him being sick, he'd be worse then all three of us!!

At least we have a good excuse to get out of the course we (as a family) are supposed to attending tonight, I'm still not sure how I got talked into it but hopefully I can talk our way out of it!

88 ~ Calming down

I feel better today, I didn't mean to worry anyone with my post yesterday. Thanks for reading and caring :)

Thanks Allier for sending this link https://www.myspecialdiet.com/ they do have a Galactosemia part but I'm the first to post, hopefully not for long! I'll post that link in the PGC forum too.

A friend, Rachel, invited us out to their place for tobogganing today, Ivy was very excited to go. Anna and myself, not so much. Anna hates the snow and I'm too tired to be social, so I sent Mike and Ivy out. It's been over 2 hours and they are not back yet, they must be having fun! Ivy usually doesn't last too long outside.

It's nice to have a quiet house today, it's been calming. Anna is playing nicely by herself, she really likes the story reader that my Aunt Linda gave the girls for X-mas. She has mastered removing the books and cartridges and popping in new ones. I still can't believe she is 3 already.

87 ~ Stressing

My blood pressure is through the roof at the moment, I can't seem to calm down. I've been trying so hard to get through life without anti-depressants and lately I just can't seem to cope.

I got a call from a dietitian at Children's this afternoon, Anna blood work from end of November finally came back and it is at .83, the highest it's been since first diagnoses. The last test results (from end of September) was .56 and the treatment range is supposed to be less than .445. I have NO IDEA why they call this number the treatment range, does it mean they will no longer treat my child since her level is above it??? No that is is silly but I am going to demand an answer next time I'm at children's.

So this new Dietitian was amazed that it took so long for the labs to come back, umm 1&1/2 months is normal....She said she is going to look into it and hopefully we can get better service. So she already has some points going for her in my book!

Why is Anna levels so high?? What did she get into?? What did her babysitters give her?? What food item is tainted with dairy?? What have I been doing wrong?? Why do her levels keep increasing when her diet doesn't seem to change??

I guess I will have to crack the whip (again) and make everything that touches her lips from scratch and not aloud any outside food!! This is going to be hard as I've been so busy lately and She is babysat at least twice a week for few hours at a time.

I can hear my heart beating in my head, it's not a headache, just a pounding that interrupts my hearing. And every time the girls come near me I want to bark at them to get away from me. I NEED to calm down. Thankfully Mike came home early, I'm going to leave the parenting up to him for the rest of today.

I will be ok, I will be ok, I am normal, I am strong......

A Happy New Year to all!

How and when did this year sneak in? I can't believe the holidays are now officially over and all we have left is 3 months of winter....boo hoo.

I think I'll get out the bird feeder this coming week and feed my little friends. I haven't done it yet because I was waiting for the snow to stop of at least slow down so the birds could actually get to the food before it got covered in snow. I quite tired of the snow, I don't mind it being on the ground I just hate how everyday new stuff is falling, GIVE IT A BREAK!! Please just 1 week of no new snow would be wonderful!

I survived the holidays, It was nice to get away and visit family, a week of vegging out at my Dad Chuck's, 2 brief visits with my Nana in Kamloops, even got to see my Uncle Bob and Aunt Linda ( think it's been 1 1/2 years) also spent a night at my Mom's new place, I hope they stay there for awhile, very nice. I can see us visiting there over night while shopping in Kelowna, might bring me closer to my parents. The house looks like a toy store Blew up, it's actually quite sickening the amount of toys the girls got for their B-days and X-mas. I'll be going threw there older stuff and either setting it aside of giving it away.

There is lot more to blog about but it will have to wait, I'm off to bed to read the Twilight series (hmmm :) very good books!!)
